  History

Adib Astronomical Society (AAS) was established in 1995. AAS is related to Esfahan Municipality. The purpose of the Municipality in starting this society was to fill the recreation time of the citizens through providing them with scientific and recreational programs, together with distributing astronomy among the citizens.
After the start of the society, we established the first exhibition on astronomy in Esfahan for a month at the beginning of 1996 with the purpose of introducing the society. Despite the fact that we did not have many things to show, about 30,000 people visited our exhibition. After noticing the motivation and interest of the citizens in this activity, the authorities in the city hall increased their support in this regard. Most of our equipment was purchased in 1996. At the end of this year, we established our second exhibition in Esfahan for 15 day which received about 30,000 visitors.
